Q: The taskbar disappears in Win2000 at a temporary resolution.

A: To have the best experience, Windows XP/Vista is needed. If you are using Windows 2000 and you cannot see your taskbar at a temporary resolution, you can use the hotkey: [Ctrl+Alt+Enter] to restore resolution, and [Ctrl+Alt+Numpad 0] to quit the application.

Q: I'm using Win98, can I use VividSwitcher 3?

A: Unfortunately, no. VividSwitcher 3 is a full Unicode application, Win9X(Win95, Win98, WinME) is not supported. The latest version which still supports Win9X is 2.4. Since Win9X is outdated today, Microsoft have already terminated their support for Win9X for years. The recomended operating systems are WinXP and Vista.

Q: My desktop resolution is 1280x1024, when at 640x480, some icons are out of my desktop, how to reach them?

A: VividSwitcher uses a temporary resolution to keep your desktop icon untouched, without re-arranging desktop icons even at a lower resolution, if you need to reach the icons out of the screen, the only way is to restore the screen.

Q: My desktop resolution is 640x480, but my monitor supports 1280x1024, can I set to 1280x1024?

A: Yes, you can change the resolution to any if the resolution mode can be detected by VividSwitcher. Please note if you switch to a larger resolution, desktop icons cannot be move to the area out of your original desktop.

Q: I replaced my video adapter/monitor, what should I need to do with VividSwitcher?

A: As a suggestion, you'd better clear all of your Favorite Resolutions and re-add them from the detected resolution list. A previously added favorite resolution may not be supported by your new adapter/monitor, changing to an unsupported resolution may bring you a "black screen"(but you are still able to restore screen using hot key). Generally, VividSwitcher can report a fail message to avoid switching to a resolution which is unsupported by your hardware.

Q: I'd like to apply Gamma Correction, but it does not affect my video area. What should I do?

A: The only reason that gamma controller remains your video area unaffected is, your video player uses an Overlay playback method. The gamma controller of VividSwitcher is incompatible with Overlay surface. Overlay method is also conflict with Windows Vista Aero Effect (This is why some video players force Aero effect to be disabled during playback).

For Windows 2000 or Windows XP, the recommended playback method is VMR.

For Windows Vista, EVR and VMR are both recommended. Some kind of video files (*.rm/*.rmvb files etc.) cannot be played using EVR, generally a video player automatically switches to Overlay or VMR mode before playing these files.

Please refer to your video player software manual to find out how to setup playback methods.

Q: Gamma controller does affect my video at most time, but sometimes does not. Why?

A: Please refer to the answer of "I'd like to apply Gamma Correction, but it does not affect my video area. What should I do?".
